Theme: Standardization for Green Low-Carbon and High-Quality Development
The Qingdao Forum on International Standardization is positioned as a high-end international standardization platform held on a regular basis, which has been successfully held in 2017, 2019 and 2021, gaining influence in the field of international standardization and formed a brand. Its general theme is “Standards Create Value and Enable Shared Development”. The theme of each forum is determined according to the theme of the World Standards Day and standardization issues attracting broad international attention. The Qingdao Forum on International Standardization will give full play to the active roles of standardization in improving global governance and promoting sustainable development. It will also integrate with the Belt and Road Initiative, serve the “new development dynamic with domestic circulation as the main stay, and domestic and international double circulation reinforcing each other”.
The 2023 Qingdao Forum on International Standardization is hosted by Shandong Provincial People’s Government and the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of the P.R.C.), organized by Qingdao Municipal People’s Government and the Shandong Administration for Market Regulation, and co-organized by the Qingdao Administration for Market Regulation. The forum will be held from June 8th to 9th, 2023, in Qingdao. Themed on “Standards for Green Low-Carbon and High-Quality Development”, it will consist of one main forum, five sub-forums and several standardization activities, during which the discussion will focus on the latest achievements and development trends of standardization in ocean, green energy, green port and shipping, low-carbon and capacity building.
The forum has invited Philippe Metzger, IEC Secretary-General, Dr. Zhang Xiaogang, former ISO President, Sergio Mujica, ISO Secretary-General, Stefano Calzolari, CEN President, heads of international, regional and national standardization organizations, and other leading figures in various fields to deliver speeches or remarks.
